The Brenner Base Tunnel is one of four major transalpine tunnels currently being built in Europe. Implenia is the only construction services provider involved in all of them and is building Lot H41 Sillschlucht-Pfons, one of the longest sections of the joint Austrian-Italian project, as part of a consortium.

The Brenner Base Tunnel is the world's longest underground rail link for passenger and freight traffic. It is not only the size that makes this construction project complex. It is also the short construction time, tight space conditions, demanding logistics and ventilation, as well as numerous works that are being planned and realized in parallel. There is no compromise on sustainability: by manufacturing the 8,500 segments for tunnel construction on site, we save 26,500 truck trips.
