A kick for intrapreneurship
Innovation is one of Implenia's four strategic pillars. By promoting a culture that focuses on ideas, collaboration and team spirit, the leading construction and real estate services provider aims to drive innovation and growth in the construction and real estate industry.
Five years of promoting innovation
For this reason, the Kickbox Intrapreneurship Program was introduced five years ago, offering all employees the opportunity to turn their ideas into concrete business concepts. This initiative has made a significant contribution to fostering the spirit of innovation, as impressively demonstrated by the more than 150 project ideas submitted and validated since the program was launched. Many of these concepts, ranging from technological advances to sustainable solutions, have now been successfully implemented throughout the company.
On October 22, 2024, Implenia celebrated five years of intrapreneurship. The event looked back on the remarkable innovations and successes of recent years and focused on future opportunities. In the Fireside Chat, Implenia CEO André Wyss emphasized the crucial importance of continuous innovation in a rapidly changing market. "Innovation has to happen everywhere, and it's not a question of age or position, it's a question of what you believe," he explained.
Ideas in the spotlight
During the subsequent pitching round, six talented employees took the opportunity to present their ideas in three minutes each to an expert panel of senior managers. The jury had the task of selecting the most promising concepts. The following three projects stood out for their innovation and feasibility:
- Management of guest parking spaces via a solution integrated into the Wincasa Home app - Nur Seyama Kücük, Accountant Creditor Management, Wincasa
- Knowledge sharing tool to improve information access and collaboration within the company - Nicolas Brun, Microsoft 365 Expert, Implenia Group IT)
- Solar carports with integrated batteries that provide energy independence and additional income for property owners - Sabina Golac, Branch Director, Wincasa
The three "intrapreneurs" can look forward to a budget for the further development of their idea, which will enable them to take their concepts to the next level. With the Kickbox program, Implenia has created a breeding ground that encourages collaboration and innovation at all levels.
The Kickbox program
The Kickbox program at Implenia, which has been running since September 2019, supports participants in three phases: 1. validation (RedBox), 2. piloting (BlueBox) and 3. implementation (GoldBox). In the first phase, participants receive dedicated innovation coaching, a budget, access to the Implenia network and support from the Innovation Hub. The support varies in the following phases, depending on the needs of the idea and the person. After the pilot phase, the third stage, "GoldBox", proves that the idea has real potential and can be placed on the market. In this way, the innovation creates real added value for the business and is pursued accordingly.
