Gubrist renovation: finished 44 days earlier thanks to Lean!
The newly launched Lean Construction Award from Implenia's Civil Engineering Division recognizes teams that make a special contribution to lean and operational excellence. It is all about efficiency, avoiding waste and continuous improvement.
No fewer than eight outstanding nominations from four countries made it clear in the first year of implementation just how strongly lean construction is practiced by the various teams. After an internal selection process, three finalists were evaluated by a 17-member jury consisting of members of the division's management team.
And the winner is ...
"The project sets a new benchmark for the organization of the entire tunnel renovation during ongoing operations," explains Sadat Lataj. And Erwin Scherer, Head Division Civil Engineering, adds: "For me, the Gubrist construction site is an outstanding example of the use of lean on a construction site. With perseverance and continuity, we have achieved a remarkable result and considerable savings in terms of time and costs. I would like to congratulate everyone involved on this outstanding success in our Gubrist lighthouse project!"
