E39 Lyngdal officially opened: Celebrating collaboration and innovation

The new section of the E39 between Lyngdal East and Lyngdal West in Norway has been officially opened – within budget and several months ahead of schedule. The project is considered an innovation laboratory, particularly in terms of sustainability and cost efficiency, and marks another milestone in the development of safe and efficient roads in southern Norway.

The new 9.5-kilometer road runs between Herdal and Røyskår in Lyngdal municipality. With four lanes, two tunnels and five bridges, the project delivers a safer and more efficient route for the region, reducing travel times and improving accessibility.

The opening ceremony gathered key representatives, including Minister of Transport Jon-Ivar Nygaard, Anette Aanesland, CEO of Nye Veier, Project Director Anita Enebakk from Nye Veier, and Erik Eiane from Implenia Norway.

A result of strong collaboration

“No such project is carried out alone. This is the result of close and strong cooperation between national authorities, the county, the municipality, contractors and the local community. I want to thank Nye Veier as project owner, Implenia Stangeland as contractor, and all the skilled professionals who have contributed throughout the process,” said Minister of Transport Jon-Ivar Nygaard.
