"Managing a construction site is more exciting than just static calculations."

For ten years, Sébastien Borgeaud worked in various engineering offices in Switzerland’s canton of Vaud. Since August 2021, he has been site manager at Implenia’s major construction site for Swiss retailer Migros in Ecublens. "I've wanted to switch to the corporate side for several years," he explains. "Managing a construction site well and having the organizational aspects under control: that's more interesting for me than pure static calculations."

In 2013, Sébastien graduated from the HES-SO University of Applied Sciences with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering – construction technology – training that benefits him greatly in his current work: "Theoretical expertise helps enormously in my job: I know how to prepare tenders – this now allows me on the company side to interpret and implement them exactly. I also get to use my expertise in construction technology on a daily basis. And thanks to my knowledge of statics, I can anticipate and avoid problems that could arise during construction."

Studies – Engineering Office – Site Manager: What is the logical next career step? "Implenia is the leading Swiss construction and real estate service provider – there are many, many opportunities internally to develop further," Bastien Borgeaud is convinced. We are curious!
