How to build a new transport artery?

In Düsseldorf, Implenia is building the new U81 metro line, a mixture of overground and underground light railway track that will connect the airport, sports stadium and exhibition grounds with the city centre. The project includes the new Nordstern Bridge, 200 metres of tunnel and an underground railway station. Working to a tight schedule, a complex public transport infrastructure project like this is only viable thanks to close cooperation between all the partners involved.
