E39 Lyngdal officially opened: Celebrating collaboration and innovation

The new 9.5-kilometer road runs between Herdal and Røyskår in Lyngdal municipality. With four lanes, two tunnels and five bridges, the project delivers a safer and more efficient route for the region, reducing travel times and improving accessibility.
The opening ceremony gathered key representatives, including Minister of Transport Jon-Ivar Nygaard, Anette Aanesland, CEO of Nye Veier, Project Director Anita Enebakk from Nye Veier, and Erik Eiane from Implenia Norway.
A result of strong collaboration
“No such project is carried out alone. This is the result of close and strong cooperation between national authorities, the county, the municipality, contractors and the local community. I want to thank Nye Veier as project owner, Implenia Stangeland as contractor, and all the skilled professionals who have contributed throughout the process,” said Minister of Transport Jon-Ivar Nygaard.
A laboratory for innovation
“We set ambitious requirements for the contractor, including that seven percent of all working hours should be carried out by apprentices. Implenia Stangeland has fully delivered on this. The project has also served as a laboratory for innovation, particularly in terms of sustainability and cost-efficiency. The result is an 18 percent cost reduction,” said Anette Aanesland, CEO of Nye Veier.

The minister declared the road open. Anita Enebakk from Nye Veier, the Mayor of Lyngdal, Unni Nilsen Husøy, and Erik Eiane from Implenia had the honor of holding the rope.
Delivered ahead of schedule and within budget
“We have delivered the project within budget and several months ahead of schedule. I would like to extend a big thank you to Implenia Stangeland for their commitment. This has been an innovative project in many ways, and I would highlight digitalisation as a key factor in ensuring quality and efficiency throughout,” said Project Director Anita Enebakk of Nye Veier.
Local collaboration in practice
“I am proud to stand here today, opening this road after approximately 1.6 million working hours. We have enjoyed strong cooperation with Lyngdal municipality and local partners, and many businesses have contributed to innovation in this project. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved, as well as our subcontractors,” said Project Director Erik Eiane of Implenia Norway.
