myclimate Company Challenge: And the Winner is...

With the myclimate Company Challenge, Implenia offers its apprentices a valuable opportunity to develop concrete climate protection projects and acquire practical skills in the areas of sustainability and project management. The winning project in the first edition of the challenge was an innovative sustainability training course for new employees. However, the other projects also showed great potential for a sustainable future.

Implenia has set itself the goal of embedding sustainability and climate protection in all areas of its business. "With the myclimate Company Challenge, we offer our apprentices the opportunity to develop and implement their own ideas for sustainable solutions," explains Anita Läderach, who is responsible for apprenticeships at Implenia.

The challenge started in autumn 2024 with 14 young talents from different areas of Implenia and Wincasa. They worked in small groups on various climate protection projects that were tailored to the company's specific needs and circumstances. The challenge was to develop creative and practicable solutions within a tight timeframe.

A jury consisting of experts from Implenia and its partner myclimate then assessed the projects according to criteria such as innovation, feasibility and long-term impact. The winning project, " Sustainability training", was particularly convincing thanks to its clear project management and innovative combination of theory and practice. The concept aims to integrate the topic of sustainability even more strongly into the existing Welcome Day program and thus sensitize as many employees as possible to environmentally conscious action right from the start. Implenia decided to implement this idea in order to clearly underline the relevance of sustainability issues right from the induction day.

In addition to the winning project, the other two teams also received a lot of recognition at the award ceremony on April 1. The "Green Home Office" project developed a concept to reduce energy consumption by optimizing home office and team days. The "Ride to Work" project aims to promote more sustainable mobility by encouraging employees to come to work by bike or public transport.

At the end of the project, Anita Läderach emphasizes: "Taking part in the myclimate Company Challenge was a valuable opportunity for the trainees to strengthen their project management skills and acquire practical knowledge. The excellent results of the Challenge encourage Implenia to promote young talent and involve them in shaping a more sustainable future at an early stage."
