Health & Safety Award 2025 presented
This year, four teams made it to the finals of the Health & Safety Award. The winning team set itself the goal of eliminating blind spots when driving telescopic forklifts. Mobile cameras that can be flexibly attached anywhere with strong magnets help to achieve this. A split screen on a monitor covers the various angles that were previously difficult to see – and does so cost-effectively and with little effort.

The following teams were also among the finalists:
- ARGE A7 from Germany, which has found a safe and efficient way to cut pile heads with a ‘Pile Breaker’.
- Holzbau in Rümlang (Switzerland) for the use of AI to evaluate safety records and for optimisations derived from them.
- Rolf Riser from Global Safety, who worked with external experts to create a safety app for training purposes. VR glasses allow users to experience real hazardous situations on the construction site and the consequences of unsafe working practices without injuring themselves.
Handover at the IELF
Erwin Scherer, Safety Delegate on the Implenia Executive Committee, and Felix Akeret, Global Head of Safety, presided over the award ceremony at the IELF and thanked the four finalists for their outstanding commitment. The representative of the winning team from BCL, Max Schulze, was surprised at the ceremony by Matthias Jacob, Country President Germany, who presented him with the ‘Golden Helmet’ live in his office in Raunheim.
