New favorite pastime? "Watching the building site"!

Parents and grandparents know it well: construction sites exert a special fascination on children, whether big or small, and have an almost magnetic attraction. So it's not surprising that the favorite activity of the 100 or so children at the "Kinder in Bewegung" daycare center, whose outdoor area is directly adjacent to our construction site in the new Hochgelegen district of Heilbronn, was to watch the hustle and bustle on the construction site live.
But unlike in the Wimmelbuch, a real construction site also harbors dangers. So how can the children be protected from concrete splashes, falling objects, dust and noise without obstructing their view and allowing their curiosity to run wild?
The Implenia team called together the best and most creative engineers and came up with a solution that not only won them the applause of the nursery school teachers, but also triggered a real storm of joy among the children. Panels were mounted in front of the fence, which the children were allowed to paint in bright colors. Peepholes fitted with Plexiglas panes at different heights ensure that the little ones can continue to pursue their favorite pastime of "watching the construction site" safely and well protected. And Heilbronn no longer has to worry about the next generation of construction engineers.
Matthias Jacob, Managing Director of Implenia Hochbau Deutschland, is delighted with the successful initiative: "The kids are really enjoying painting and so is everyone who can see these pictures. Thanks to the construction site team and everyone who helped!" From source of danger to attraction: an idea for other construction sites too?
