“Excellent" BREEAM Infrastructure rating for Fornebubanen

Implenia Norway is proud to announce that the Fornebubanen K2A project has received a BREEAM Infrastructure certification with a rating of Excellent. This achievement is not only an important milestone for the project itself but also a recognition of Implenia Norway’s strong commitment to sustainability as a contractor.

BREEAM Infrastructure is Europe’s leading certification system for sustainability in infrastructure projects. It sets strict requirements for environmental management, resource efficiency, nature conservation, and social responsibility. The certification of K2A – which covers 2.3 km of tunneling between Fornebu and Lysaker, as well as complex works for stations and shafts – demonstrates that large, technically challenging construction projects can be delivered with high environmental ambitions.

Once completed, Fornebubanen will run in tunnel from Majorstuen to Fornebu, with six new stations. The line will promote sustainable mobility, reduce car traffic, and provide a more efficient and accessible public transport solution for a rapidly growing part of Oslo.
