Showcase project for modern bridge construction
Mastering enormous forces safely
At the heart of the system is a cantilever forming traveller - a huge steel structure with impressive dimensions: 30 meters long, 16.5 meters wide and 20 meters high. In combination with the formwork carriage attached to it, which serves as a working platform, formwork carrier and concreting scaffolding, the system has a total weight of up to 150 tons per side. This entire construction has already been successfully lifted to the final working height of 40 meters above the Kiel Canal - a complex and millimetre-precise process that required maximum precision and coordination.
Bridge construction scaffolding system is lifted to working height
The innovative customized bridge construction scaffolding system is lifted to the final working height of 40 m: A cantilevered formwork carriage with an attached formwork carriage serves as a working platform, formwork solution and concreting scaffolding.
Cooperation as the key to success
The armament system used was developed in close cooperation with the experienced partner companies Strukturas and Hünnebeck developed. In an iterative planning process, a solution was created that was precisely tailored to the requirements of the structure, the special conditions of the construction site and the high safety requirements.
The successful implementation of this complex engineering service is the result of an intensive planning, coordination and construction phase. It is a prime example of the expertise and innovative strength with which Implenia realizes challenging infrastructure projects.
Henning Schrewe, Head of Implenia Civil and Special Foundations (ICS) Germany, emphasizes: "The Rader High Bridge is not only a sustainable structure, but also a symbol of modern engineering and successful teamwork. The project illustrates how Implenia is making an important contribution to sustainable and efficient transport infrastructure in Germany through tailor-made technical solutions, interdisciplinary collaboration and the highest quality of execution."
The Rader High Bridge project
Under the technical leadership of Implenia, a consortium is constructing the replacement of the Rader Hochbrücke / BAB A7 highway bridge on behalf of DEGES. The new highway bridge is 1,500 m long and 42 m high and carries the A7 east of Rendsburg, Schleswig-Holstein, over the Kiel Canal and the Borgstedter Enge. The bridge is a steel composite construction and plays an important role for traffic to and from Denmark and Scandinavia.
