Electricity from sunlight
Solar installations on the roofs of Implenia's Swiss depots near Satigny (GE), Vétroz (VS) and Schattdorf (UR) and at the asphalt plant in Ecublens (VD) have been supplying solar power for years. In Germany, a photovoltaic system on the roofs of the BBV Systems subsidiary in Bobenheim-Roxheim (RP) produces over 400 megawatt hours of electricity per year. Almost half of the energy generated is consumed on site.
In total, the solar panels on Implenia properties generate more than 1.25 gigawatt hours of green electricity a year. The goal is to increase this to three gigawatt hours of solar power per year by the end of 2025. To this end, Implenia is examining all roofs and facades that are suitable for the installation of solar panels. In 2024, a further plant was already put into operation in Satigny.
