The ambitions of its apprentices are important to Implenia. IT apprentice Ragul Puvaneswaran from Switzerland was given a special opportunity thanks to his excellent school grades: He completed a four-week internship abroad in Sweden.
For a month, Ragul Puvaneswaran swapped his workplace at Implenia's head office in Switzerland for an internship in the Swedish capital. The IT apprentice was nominated for an internship abroad based on his academic performance and seized the opportunity to spend a month getting to know and working with the company ‘Homer - the Home Management App’.
Homer is an award-winning app for homeowners - a smart home management app that allows you to store, manage and access all the information about your home - wherever you are. "Part of my role was to provide performance and monitoring for the company's cloud computing services. I worked with services such as AWS Cloudwatch and X-ray," he explains.
Implenia supported Ragul by covering his flight costs and giving him paid leave for the time. "I am extremely grateful to Implenia for their support and this opportunity," he says. During his internship abroad, he gained a valuable insight into an exciting company and Swedish working culture, while also discovering Stockholm for himself. Together with a colleague, he lived in a small apartment from where they explored the city and its nightlife after work and at weekends.
Anita Läderach, who is responsible for apprenticeships at Implenia Switzerland, emphasizes: "It is important to us to attract committed young talent to our company and to support them individually - this is how we ensure that we can continue to successfully complete our exciting projects in the future. "
