Nachhaltigkeitspremiere bei Implenia Schweden: Der TORO ™ LH517i - die erste Maschine der Welt mit biobasiertem Hydrauliköl, entstand in einer Kooperation zwischen Implenia Schweden und dem finnischen Hersteller Sandvik.

Sustainable new addition to Implenia Sweden's machinery fleet: The Sandvik TORO ™ LH517i - LHD (Load Haul Dump) is the first machine in the world with bio-based hydraulic oil to leave Sandvik's factory in Turku (Finland), and it is also refueled with the biofuel EcoPar!

Concentrated power

The bucket is a full 8.6 m3 and can take up to about 17 tons of rock at a time. The machine will load rock masses within project Sofia, a new metro station located in Stockholm, where Implenia is building an approximately 150-meter-long station space, a 100m vertical access shaft, two track tunnels and a service tunnel in the rock.

How Implenia puts it into practice

“When we buy machines and equipment at Implenia, we always have a strong focus on sustainability and the environment,” Daniel Zetterman, Machine Manager at Implenia Sweden explains. “When we were to procure this loader, the requirements were fixed: It was to be delivered with biodegradable hydraulic oil.”

Daniel goes on to explain: “It turned out, however, that none of the suppliers had ever delivered a loader of this size with bio-oil. Together with Sandvik, we started a development project to ensure that the machine and all components would work together with bio-oil.

In January, the machine was delivered, as the first in the world with biodegradable oil in the hydraulic tank. "I am very pleased with the collaboration with Sandvik and their representative Peter Lundmark. It feels incredibly important to us that we can deliver a machine for our project that meets all the environmental requirements," says Daniel.
